Living a healthy lifestyle is a way of sustaining a life that one may choose voluntarily. It is very essential to keep in mind that the goal is not to stress the body. The goal is to achieve fitness and good health. The body is the priority. Hence one must always choose a health improvement routine that does not cause fatigue to the muscles and does not cut down on essential nutrients.
Choose a proper training routine
Most people focus on increasing the intensity and the volume of the workouts. However, it must be kept in mind that increasing exercise is not always progressing. Progress includes improving the skills and perfecting one exercise before moving onto another. In this way, the muscles get enough time to adapt to this exercise, relax and adapt to the next exercise then. Thus, soreness is not caused.
When one repeats the same exercise over and over again, the person gets better control over the movements and improved skill sets. As they say, ‘Practice makes a man perfect. Therefore, it is recommended that a person should first work on bettering and excelling at one exercise rather than do jump from one exercise to another, frequently.
There is no point in being the Jack of all trades. As this process is continued, one gains efficiency in the particular exercise, and the muscles are not subjected to changes very often. Hence there is no fatigue of muscles.
Tiredness is not the measure of success of one’s training sessions. One can have a healthy and fit workout routine without exhausting themselves too much. If the muscles are exhausted beyond their capacity, it increases the chances of injury and may often cause injury.
These kinds of injuries take quite some time to heal. Thus, one may even miss out on their workout sessions for a long time if the muscles are injured.
Hence, it must be taken care of that the muscles are not exhausted too much. The training routine should be chosen as per the capabilities of the body.
Effects of stressing hard on the training
This soreness of muscles often subjects the person to a certain muscle condition called delayed on-sore of muscles or as it is commonly known- ‘DOMS’. Muscle soreness is caused whenever the muscles are stretched too much beyond their natural elasticity.
The extra pressure exerted on the muscles makes the muscle sore. It has been found out DOMS affected people who were continuously and at regular frequencies, adding more volumes of workout or changing the workout routine too often.
The human body is adaptive but it takes time to adapt. The muscles get adapted to one exercise, the person has already changed the workout routine or added heavier exercise to it. When the muscles are subjected to changes so frequently, it becomes sore eventually.
Adopt healthy eating over skipping meals
Dieting too strictly is not healthy at all and very harmful for the body. Having proper nutrients is very important. A diet that doesn’t include a balanced diet and keeps the stomach hungry always, is not at all right and causes harm to the body in the long run.
These types of diets often don’t comply with the busy lifestyle of the twenty-first century and many a time the body ends up with a deficiency of nutrients. One should always adopt food habits that encourage healthy eating rather than not eating at all or eating negligible amounts of food.
One can begin by making positive choices such as choosing healthy food and cut down on junk food. One must opt to buy healthy food more and less junk food, which will help curb the intake of extra calories. One must try and keep healthy food options easily available in the house so that the hunger pangs can be combated healthily.
The key to proper dieting is not cutting down on food. It is about bringing in a healthy change in the food habits, to move towards a fitter life. This includes choosing healthier options, not skipping meals. This often leads to a condition of the body called anorexia in medical terms.
Slow eating and avoiding overeating
One should eat slowly and make sure that they enjoy their meal. This often stops overeating naturally. Eating slowly digests the food faster and the body can indicate when the intake is enough.
However, if we eat fast, the body is unable to digest so much food together and continues to feel hungry until and unless the food is starts getting digested. This leads to overeating. The body must be given the right amount of food and nutrients to sustain life.
Rewards for achieving goals
One should set goals first and then work on achieving them. While it is important to stay focused on the goals, nothing should be done that doesn’t comply with the body, in a desperate attempt to achieve the goals.
When one is setting the goal, it is very important to keep in mind that goal should not include anything that may deprive the body of the proper nutrients or cause fatigue. On achievement of the goals, it is important to reward oneself for the hard work and effort.
This will encourage one to work harder and more efficiently. Also, once one sees for oneself that it is possible to achieve the desired results even without being too harsh on oneself, it encourages one to choose a healthy lifestyle sans stressful training and under-eating.
Sleep is important
Having a seven to eight hours sleep routine is extremely important. The body must be given adequate rest for it to be able to sustain and avoid fatigue.
Stay hydrated
When the body is hydrated, the fatigue caused in the muscle is much less. Hence, it diminishes the risk of muscle soreness and muscle fatigue.
On one hand, as much as exercising and on the other hand cutting down on extra calories is important. It is advisable not to do anything that may cause harm or damage to the body.
